Margaret Elphinstone is the author of five novels including Voyageurs, The Sea Road, and Hy Brasil. She has also written several books of nonfiction and poetry, as well as many literary articles. Elphinstone has traveled widely in Iceland, Greenland, and North America. She is now a senior English lecturer at Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Scotland.
