Artyom Borovik, the author of Hidden War, was called “the best journalist in Russia” during the early 1990s. He was a foreign editor for Ogonyok and a regular reporter for 60 Minutes, and gained international attention for his reports from inside the Russian Parliament with Boris Yeltsin during the August 1991 coup attempt. He passed away in early 2000.
