Brian Morton is a former academic, journalist, and broadcaster whose daily arts program ran for many years on BBC Radio Scotland. He is the author or coauthor of a dozen books, including eight editions of the Penguin Guide to Jazz and biographies of Miles Davis, Shostakovich, and Adolphe Sax. He lives in the remote West of Scotland with his wife, landscape photographer Sarah MacDonald.
