Alan Ayckbourn, born in London in 1939, is one of Britain’s most popular and prolific playwrights. His works, mostly comedies, deal with middle-class manners and conflicts. His more than fifty plays include Relatively Speaking, How the Other Half Loves, Time and Time Again, Absurd Person Singular, The Normal Conquests, Bedroom Farce, Sisterly Feelings, Way Upstream, A Small Family Business, Henceforward, Man of the Moment, Body Language, The Revenger’s Comedies, Invisible Friends, and Communicating Doors. He has also been an actor, director, and producer.
